Essential Functions:
- Ensure that incoming grain is delivered efficiently and correctly.
- Manage customer and truck flow to minimize unloading/loading time.
- Bin bulk grain in anticipation of storing, grinding and loading out as needed per facility.
- Ensure bushels are stored according to the grain flow plan.
- Load out bulk products into trucks.
- Work with drivers and Dispatch Team to efficiently load trucks daily.
- Maintain clean and neat grain handling facilities.
- Perform grounds-keeping, site maintenance and upkeep duties. In the event of a grain spill, cleanup is required.
- Monitor equipment and either reports or corrects equipment/mechanical failures.
- Maintain equipment by following maintenance schedule.
- Assist customers with loading and unloading of grain.
- Attend training and safety meetings.
- Assist the Operations Team with any other related duties as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General work experience with a preference for agricultural familiarity.
- Outdoor and manual labor work experience strongly preferred.
- Basic mechanical capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and customer service skills.
- Capacity to work long hours (+overtime), during Harvest Seasons.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Positive attitude required.
- HS Diploma, GED or equivalent education required
Physical demands:
- Must be prepared to be on your feet and on the move all day
- Must be able to work in a noisy, dusty environment (appropriate PPE provided).
- Sweeping, shoveling, lifting ability, etc. required.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Must be comfortable with heights and able to climb stairs and ladders multiple stories high to maintain grain storage bins and facility equipment.
- Must be prepared to withstand exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
Pay:
Level I – Entry-Level Operator: $20.00 to $23.00/hour
Experience: 0–6 months in ag operations, manufacturing, or similar field (preferred but not required)
Level II – Intermediate Operator: $23.00 to $26.00/hour
Experience: 6 months to 2 years in grain and/or feed facility operations. Experience coordinating or leading small teams.
Level III – Senior Operator / Lead: $26.00 to $29.00/hour
Experience: 2+ years in grain handling, elevator, or feed manufacturing. Demonstrated leadership amongst multi-level teams.
- Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate over 40 hours worked/week
Expected hours and schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- Minimum of 40 hours/week in the off season with overtime during peak harvest season (approximately July and September – December). Seasonal overtime can include weeknight and weekend scheduling.
