Performs technical radiographic assignments. Exercises complex skills, judgement and knowledge of the principles and methods of Radiologic Technology. Performs diagnostic radiographic studies as requested. Operates portable diagnostic radiographic equipment where needed. Performs Infection Control according to Universal Precautions. Radiologic Technologist shall have the ability to provide care to infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Job Duties:
Operates with accuracy: Radiographic, CT, image processors and other related equipment of similar scope and complexity across different modalities. Evaluates images for quality and demonstrates accuracy of positioning based on procedure guidelines. Provides clear and concise instructions during procedures to calm and relieve stress for patients. Maintains competency in two specific modalities.
Ensures that proper radiation protection is used for self, patient and other personnel by use of proper collimation, lead shielding and techniques when applicable.
Demonstrates flexibility in assuming emergency call on weekdays, weekends and holidays in addition to routine hours.
Demonstrates competency in RIS and PACS. Utilizes system to enter and edit patient exams and charges. Records other appropriate data, scanning documents and making notes.
Responsible for the performance of radiographic and CT studies with and/or without IV contrast enhancement, which includes, but not limited to, brain, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, spine, facial, extremities. Follows NYSDOH Part 16 guidelines. Performs required QC activities.

Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, tissues.
