Machine Operator- Wire Forming
Full time 40 hours- Monday-Thursday- 5:40am-4:10pm
Position Summary:
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring machinery used in the production of jewelry components. This role ensures consistent product quality and adherence to production schedules while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use hands to set up, operate, and monitor machines used for cutting, forming, stamping, or finishing jewelry components.
- Perform quality checks on parts to ensure they meet company standards by visually inspecting and measuring parts with a hand help instrument.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or instructions to determine operational procedures.
- Adjust machine settings by manually making changes to machine set up to complete tasks according to specifications.
- Use hands to Perform routine maintenance on machines and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
- Maintain accurate production records and log completed work by typing information on a keyboard.
- Ensure work area is kept clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
- Communicate issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintains metal free status and actively supports security initiatives.
- Maintains a high level of safety standards within their department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and follow detailed instructions, safety data sheets, and production specifications.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to detect product flaws or malfunctions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a time-sensitive environment.
- Ability to make quick, efficient decisions.
- Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle challenging situations.
- Ability to learn new tasks and remember processes.
Education and/or experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing or metalworking environment preferred.
