HEALTH CLUB CONCIERGE JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Job Duties
Iowa Sports Management's Health Club Concierges are responsible for reflecting ISM’s professional public image while assisting with maintaining a professional and friendly environment in the facility. Daily tasks include greeting residents and members at check-in and assisting with their inquiries, registering new residents and members, answering and transferring phone calls as appropriate, and maintaining daily attendance logs. The Concierge also transacts sales such as membership and other fees, and maintains all sales logs. Daily attendance is required.
Other Primary Tasks
• Registering new residents and members into the health club management software as applicable.
• Reserve areas of the facility to residents and members on the health club calendar.
• Be alert and present to prevent accidents from occurring in the facility and respond promptly in accordance with management’s direction.
• Remain thoroughly apprised and familiar with all ISM and client policies and procedures.
• Enforce all facility rules and policies in a consistent and professional manner.
• Constant communication with facility manager.
Secondary Tasks
• A little service goes a long way; learn members’ routines and habits - e.g.: if you know that the resident always uses a stretching mat, take one out for them.
• Be available to substitute for other staff members.
• Fill out incident reports for any first aid or event that occurs in the facility.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the facility manager and supervisors including maintaining cleanliness of the front desk and other areas of the facility.
• Attend all staff meetings and in-service trainings as scheduled.
• Be proactive – if there is a hazard anywhere in the facility, notify facility manager and correct the situation.
Qualifications Needed
• Ability to be on your feet for up to 40 hours per week
• Available to work weekends and holidays.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work without constant supervision
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact in a friendly, personal and professional manner with patrons regarding concerns, problems, or any other significant issues.
