Our firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our New York City office and work on world class design projects with a leading MEP design firm in the architectural engineering consulting industry. We are looking for a technically proficient and seasoned engineer with experience delivering complex projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for architecture and engineering related to the design and construction of highly sustainable, high performance innovative, and iconic buildings.

The following job description is a general summary of duties typically performed in this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize sustainable mechanical systems and communicate design options to clients and all stakeholders
  • Develop high quality mechanical HVAC system construction documents
  • Perform engineering calculations for cooling and heating load analysis
  • Prepare mechanical technical specifications
  • Prepare building due diligence and assessment reports to describe existing systems and HVAC design options.
  • Participate with the MEP team in construction administration activities including on-site field observation, punch list reports, contractor coordination, RFI’s, and cost estimate review.

Key Competencies and Skills:

  • Experience working on a variety of building types through all phases of a project from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Excellent communications skills to enable successful in-person dialogue and relationships with owners, architects, and other consultants.
  • Excellent written skills in the form of engineering reports and technical analysis.
  • Effective knowledge of the NYC Building Code and NFPA Codes.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit
  • Engineering calculations and performance simulation software

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
  • 5+ Years' Experience
  • Complete FE Exam or current E.I.T certification
  • LEED Accreditation
